Construction of Electronic Port Streesed

Vice-Premier Wu Yi said in Beijing on Tuesday that China should speed up the construction of electronic ports to improve the government management.

It is significantly important to raise the work efficiency at the ports after China entered the World Trade Organization (WTO), said Wu, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party's Central Committee, at a national work conference on construction of local electronic ports held in Beijing.

In the coming five years, China will improve the one-station service at the ports and extend their information network to the logistic sector.

China has built up an information network among ports across the country and connected the networks with 11 departments of the central government.
