Chinese vice president concluded his visit to Beijing's neighboring city, Tianjin, Sunday.
Zeng Qinghong, also member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, called for improving the Party's governing capability while implementing the scientific concept of development and building a harmonious society.
During his visit to this one of China four municipalities under the central government, Zeng repeatedly stressed that the annual central economic work conference, held from December 3 to 5, concluded that China will maintain rapid growth while strengthening the macro-control on the country's economy.
Zeng said the conference also called for further efforts in handling the relationship between the market mechanism and macro-control, optimizing the economic structure, promoting coordinated development and improving related systems and mechanisms.
"The decision of the conference will play a long-term guiding role in building up a society of moderate affluence and promoting China's modernization," said Zeng.
He stressed that the issues of agriculture, rural areas and farmers should be the priority for all local governments. The government should also pay much attention to the coordinated development between the rural and urban areas.
He said that harmonious residential communities ruled by residents are the important basis to a harmonious society when he visited the residential communities.
During his stay in Tianjin, Zeng also visited some businesses, schools, hospitals and extended his greetings to laid-off workers, accompanied by local major officials.
