Up to 28 bodies have been recovered during the weekend from Telwatte, where nearly 900 people died when a Galle-bound train was hit by the Dec. 26 Indian Ocean tsunami, Sri Lankan police said on Monday.
The bodies were badly decomposed more than two months after the killer tsunami hit the island country, police said.
Search operations in the area are continuing with the hope that more bodies would be found.
