In spite of immense difficulties, especially in transport, the food from the Indonesian government and world donors is now reaching the disaster victims.

The relief materials are reaching the disaster victims, slowly but surely. The deliveries are being overseen by various international organizations. As there are so many such organizations as well as volunteers, the UN has re-organized all the foreigners so as to make full use of them.

The UN authority is calling for foreign aid to be registered at the UN so that there will be no repetition of delivery.

And the World Food Program is keeping a data on the food distribution.

Staff of World Food Program Bettina Luescher said, “As the transport from Banda Aceh to the west coast towns has all been cut off, the first batch of relief food was air dropped there.”

She also said military ships and civilian boats have been put to use to deliver food to all corners of the disaster stricken areas.
