Thailand's death toll from the killer tsunami that struck the country's southern coastlines on Dec. 26 on Wednesday rose to 5,288, including 2,510 foreigners, the government said.
It also said that 8,457 were injured and 3,716 still missing.
In Phang-nga alone, the death toll stood at 4,160, with 5,597 injured and 2,113 still missing.
