Japanese auto manufacturer Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (NMCL) will donate 1.5 million yuan to China in support of its anti-SARS fight, officials from its Beijing office announced Friday.
One million yuan of the donation (about 120,000 US dollars) will be presented to the Chinese Ministry of Health, and the remaining 500,000 yuan (about 60,000 US dollars) will be presentedto the Beijing municipal government.
In mid-May, the joint venture of NMCL and China International Trust and Investment Group in Zhengzhou, the capital of central China's Henan Province, donated five vehicles valued at approximately 1.3 million yuan to the Zhengzhou municipal government and the Henan provincial government to support the province's battle against the epidemic.
