Prices of SARS-related Medicine, Food Decrease
Prices of food, and medicines and medical materials for the treatment of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) decreased in most areas of China in May, due to effective measures taken by central and local governments.

The National Development and Reform Commission released the figures on Tuesday.

The short supply of health materials like masks and disinfectant eased, and the supply of edible oil, meat and eggs was sufficient.

Officials with the National Development and Reform Commission said a series of measures have been taken to contain the rise of prices and ensure sufficient supply.
