The government of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) on Wednesday evening hosted a dinner party for the visiting delegation of two taikonauts and engineers of China's second manned space mission.
Chief executive of the MSAR, Edmund Ho Hau Wah, extended warm welcome to the delegation on behalf of the MSAR government and the Macao people.
The Macao people are so proud that the Chinese people could fulfill the space dream in 2003 and could make another jump in the aero-space technology in the period of merely two years, Ho told the party.
The success of Shenzhou VI mission in mid-October has improved Macao people's pride of being a Chinese, said Ho.
He said he hoped the visit of the delegation will encourage the youngsters in Macao to learn from the scientists and taikonauts the spirit of perseverance.
The 30-strong delegation arrived on Wednesday after concluding its tour in Hong Kong.
The visiting taikonauts and engineers made a science presentation to some 1,000 Macao people earlier the day.
They, during the stay here, are also scheduled to meet with people from all walks of life and to attend a grand evening gala, hosted by the MSAR government.
