Major newspapers in Uruguay on Thursday highly praise China's successful launch of the Shenzhou VI manned spacecraft.
"China sends two men into space and dreams of the future," reads local daily El Pais, which also publishes photos and information about China's space race.
The paper highlights remarks of Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao, who said Wednesday's launch of the spacecraft was a complete success.
It also tells stories about Fei Junlong and Nie Haisheng, the two Chinese astronauts carrying out the Shenzhou VI mission.
Ultimas Noticias, on the other hand, pays much attention to Shenzhou VI's take-off, and emphasizes that the launch was broadcast live on television and radio for all the Chinese people to enjoy the moment.
La Republica, another local daily, hails the two Chinese astronauts as "new space heroes." It also shows photos and biographies of the astronauts.
China launched the Shenzhou VI spacecraft on a five-day mission from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center at 9:00 a.m. local time (0100GMT) Wednesday.
This is the second time China launched a manned spacecraft. Its first manned space flight, with one astronaut aboard, occurred two years ago.
