Leslie Cheung Asian Fans launched an art exhibition named "Farewell My Concubine" in Hong Kong Cultural Center to mark September 12, the Hong Kong pop idol's 49th birthday, despite the actor having died two years ago. 

Recently, Cheung's fans from China, Japan and Malaysia launched an art exhibition named "Farewell My Concubine" in Hong Kong Cultural Center to commemorate the great singer and actor. 　

The exhibition features settings, props and costumes that Cheung used in his films, as well as the late star's personal photos and photos from her career. Cheung's waxwork in Hong Kong's Madam Toussauds was also transported to the cultural center, with a cloak copied from one of Cheung's costumes in his masterpiece movie Farewell My Concubine (1993). 　　

A representative of Cheung's fans club said the exhibition had taken four months and cost tens of thousands of dollars to prepare, with funds being completely donated by just under a thousand of Cheung's fans from around the world. 　　

Cheung committed suicide in Hong Kong on April 1, 2003 by leaping from the 24th floor of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. He left a note saying he had been suffering from depression, the causes of which are unknown.
