China's State Council has sent 15 inspection teams to localities around the country to check the measures of local authorities for further prevention and control of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).
According to a circular issued by the State Council, the teams will inspect the work of the local governments on quarantine, disinfection in public places, the use of preventive medicines, and plans for setting up P3 laboratories (labs to ensure the safety of staff in experimental research).
They will also check that college students and migrant workers have prevention measures against SARS and the preliminary plans made by local authorities on the prevention of SARS for next winter and spring.
The teams will finish inspections and report to the national anti-SARS headquarters on July 8.
