American Chinese in San Francisco in the United States donated a third batch of medical materials Wednesday to support the ongoing battle against severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) in China.
Arriving at Beijing's Capital International Airport on Wednesday afternoon, the donations worth 39,187 US dollars include 26,690 gauze masks, 650 protective suits, 252 bottles of medical alcohol disinfectant and 1,000 pairs of gloves specially made for medical workers.
Their first two batches of materials against SARS were donated to the Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau and distributed among hospitals in Beijing.
In accordance with the will of donors, these new arrivals will be sent to Tianjin Municipality and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
