A roadside bomb hit a commuter buses on Wednesday in Baghdad, killing one Iraqi civilian and wounding more than 20 others, Iraqi police at the scene said.
The bomb, apparently targeted a US convoy driving by, badly damaged the bus, Haider al-Atiya said, adding that another commuter bus nearby was also damaged.
Adel Saadi, another police officer, said the explosion was caused by a remote-controlled bomb planted on a roadway.
A large number of US forces have rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area. Several ambulances also arrived to rescue the wounded civilians.
The US troops in Iraq have been under constant attacks since May 1 when US President George W. Bush declared an end to major combat operations.
