Casualties on Day 24 of Iraq War
The number of casualties on both sides of the warring parties mounted as the Iraq war entered its 24th day on Saturday.

Coalition forces:

  • Killed on the battlefield: 95 US and eight British soldiers.

  • Killed in accidents: 12 US and 22 British soldiers.

  • Missing and captured: 10 US soldiers missing, seven captured.

    Iraqi forces: More than 2,320, according to US military, but no official figures from the Iraqi side.

    Civilians: At least 1250 Iraqis were killed and more than 5100 wounded, according to Iraqi estimates.

    Journalists: Ten were killed in combat and friendly fire, two are missing, one died in an accident, and one died of illness.
