Al-Jazeera Denies Departure of Journalists from Baghdad
The Qatar-based al-Jazeera TV channel on Wednesday denied that its journalists will leave Baghdad after one cameraman was killed in a US attack on Tuesday.

Akram Khazam, head of al-Jazeera's Moscow office, said: "The other journalists will continue to work in Iraq."

He noted that the TV channel is to withdraw reporters from Basra, the second largest Iraqi city, saying, "We are talking about our two reporters in Basra. There is real chaos, so there is no point in keeping them there."

Six al-Jazeera journalists are now remaining in Iraq, he said.

A US missile Tuesday hit Al-Jazeera's office in Baghdad, killing one journalist and wounded another. Al-Jazeera has accused the US troops of intentionally firing at its office.
