American Casualties in Iraq War Rise to 80
The Pentagon on Sunday identified a US Marine killed in action days ago, bringing the total number of US casualties to 80.

The Pentagon identified the Marine who was killed three days ago as Cpl. Erik Silva, 22, of Chula Cista, California.

He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division, which is based at Camp Pendleton, California.

The Pentagon on Saturday put the official total of American military killed in the Iraq war at 79.

According to reports reaching here, one US soldier has been killed in ambush on convoy northwest of Baghdad.
