US-led coalition troops are within 50 kilometers from the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, the Pentagon announced Wednesday.
"We've moved to within 30 miles of Baghdad, but there remains tough fighting ahead," Major General Stanley McChrystal, Joint Staff vice director of operations, told a news conference.
