Russia Wednesday protested against the incidents that some US bombs were dropped near the Russian embassy in Baghdad, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The statement said that "several bombs fell on a civilian district of Baghdad (on Tuesday) where the Russian embassy is located. The lives of Russian diplomats were placed in immediate danger."
It added that the Russian government had handed a strong protest to US Ambassador to Russia Alexander Vershbow, saying such incidents were "unacceptable."
