Kuwaiti officials have confirmed that a missile hit the center of Kuwaiti City shortly before 02:00 a.m. Saturday (2300 GMT Friday), CNN reported.
The report said Souq Sharq district, on the Gulf coast near the center of the city, was hit by the missile, but it was not clear where the missile came from.
A while ago, huge explosions were heard in the capital of Kuwait and black smokes were seen rising in the downtown areas in the city.
No sirens were heard before or after the explosions.
Since the US-led war on Iraq started on March 20, Iraq has launched more than dozen of Scud missiles at Kuwait with most of the missiles intercepted by Patriot batteries.
