At least eight Iraqi civilians were killed and 33 others injured on Friday when two missiles hit a residential area in central Baghdad in a raid by the US-led coalition on the Iraqi capital, witnesses said in Baghdad.
The two missiles fell at about 6:30 a.m. (0930 GMT) in the al-Mansur area in central Baghdad, completely destroying one house and severely damaging three others, the witnesses said.
Earlier on Friday, Iraqi Information Minister Mohammad Said al-Sahhaf said that seven civilians were killed and 92 others wounded in overnight strikes by the US-led coalition.
The allied forces launched a war against Iraq on Thursday last week in a bid to overthrow Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.
