Those heated projects of real estate and properties, and restaurants and entertainment industries launched during the Eighth Five-Year Plan period have declined, their proportions in the provincial GDP having dropped from 16.8 percent and 8.6 percent to 6.2 percent and 4.8 percent respectively. Meanwhile, manufacturing enterprises have made much headway with a proportion climbing from 67.6 percent to 84 percent. A group of foreign-invested enterprises in the pillar industries, such as auto, and petrochemical, have been built up and put into operation one after another. The Deda and Dacheng projects, both makking good use of Jilion’s agricultural resources, have become the leading enterprises to earn foreign exchange and promote the industrialization of agriculture.
