A leading Chinese university and a major Japanese university have had rich results from their cooperation, president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Lu Yongxiang said in Beijing on Thursday.
The cooperation between the Chinese University of Science and Technology (USTC) and the University of Tokyo in Japan had gained lots of international and influential academic results, Lu said during a meeting with Akito Arima, president of the University of Tokyo to mark the 20th anniversary of ties between the two universities.
They began working together in 1982. Over the past two decades, they have cooperated in such academic fields as physics, chemistry, precision machinery, and information and scientific management.
Akito Arima said the two sides should fully make use of knowledge so that both could promote sustainable exchanges in scientific and educational areas.
