A reception celebrating the 10th anniversary of the setting up of diplomatic ties between China and the Republic of Korea (ROK) was held in Beijing on Thursday.
Addressing the reception, Zhu Muzhi, president of the China-ROK Friendship Association said the two countries had enjoyed beneficial cooperation and exchanges in the fields of politics, economics and trade, culture, education, and science and technology.
The Chinese government would continue to boost its cooperative partnership with ROK, and advance all-round bilateral ties in the new century, Zhu said.
China firmly supported any effort aimed at reconciliation, cooperation and peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula by the two Korean sides, he said, expressing China's sincere wish for a lasting peace and common development in the Peninsula.
Kim Ha Joong, ROK ambassador to China, said the two countries had made remarkable progress in developing ties in all fields. Increasing exchanges between the two peoples fully illustrated the progress of all-round cooperative relations. He expressed his belief that ROK-China friendship would grow closer in the new century.
