China has attracted the most visitors from the Republic of Korea (ROK), since ranking as the second target country for ROK investment, ROK Ambassador to China Kim Ha Joong said Monday in Beijing.
Addressing a China-Korea women seminar opened in Beijing Monday, Kim said that over 1.67 million ROK people visited China in 2001. And the figure topped 970,000 during the first six months of this year.
The year 2002 marks the tenth anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic ties between China and ROK, as well as the year of exchanges between the two countries.
Official resources shows that the trade volume between China and ROK in 2001 reached US$35.9 billion as the two countries have become the important trade partners to each other.
Kim said that both ROK and China were trying to increase the understanding of each other's culture, arts, language and history through various activities in the recent years.
