On August 3, Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan and Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (ROK) to China Kwon Byong-hyon signed the Fishery Agreement between the Governments of the People’s Republic of China and the Republic of Korea.
The fishery agreement between the two governments is a provisional arrangement on fisheries before the delimitation of the Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZ) between the two countries with opposite coasts. It marks a new development of relations in the fishing sector and will be important to the protection of fish resources, the stable development of relations in the fishing sector and to the development of the bilateral relations between the two countries as a whole.
