Unknown gunmen opened fire at a vehicle of the Iraqi civil defense members in western Baghdad on Tuesday, wounding three of them, police source told Xinhua.

"Armed men ambushed a civil defense vehicle in Ameriayh district and opened fire with small arms, wounding three of them," Captain Ahmed Abdullah said.

Separately, the Iraqi police discovered four trucks totally charred on the highway near Abu Ghraib area in western Baghdad, the source said.

He said the trucks were part of a convoy escorted by the US troops when insurgents attacked them and fled the scene.
