Anna Wang, or Anna L Wang, was born in Germany in 1907. She majored in history and linguistics, in which she obtained her doctorate.
Wang was passionate about fighting fascism. As a close friend of the Chinese Communist Party, she devoted herself to the War of Resistance against Japan. She visited the base area of the war and conducted interviews, reporting on the situation as it really was and the strategic policies of the Communist Party. She also delivered medicines to frontline troops. Wang lived in China for 19 years. She loved China so much that she considered it her second home.
