The Central Committee of Revolutionary Committee of Chinese Kuomintang (RCCK) held a symposium in Beijing Sunday to mark the 60th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
The children of many late Kuomintang generals attended the symposium, reviewing the stories of their fathers in the war.
Addressing the meeting, Chairwoman of RCCK He Luli said the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Chinese Kuomintang (KMT) teamed up in leading the anti-Japanese armies when the Chinese nation was in crisis more than half century ago.
The war from 1931 to 1945 left 35 million Chinese, soldiers and civilian, dead or injured.
"The CPC and KMT opened a large battlefield together in the World Anti-Fascist War," she said.
The other political parties and patriotic personages without party affiliation supported the CPC-KMT cooperation and made unique contribution to the victory, she said.
"The unity of the entire Chinese nation is our source of power that guarantees the victory of our struggle to overcome all difficulties," she added.
