The Committee of Environment and Resources of the National People's Congress sponsored a seminar that discussed the Chinese Human Development Report of 2002 that features that green development is the only way for development.
The report was compiled jointly by the Stockholm Institute of International Environment and UN Development Program.
Members of the NPC committee and responsible persons of the standing committees of provincial, municipal or regional people's congresses attended the seminar.
Those who attended showed great interest in the proposals that suggest bolstering up economic means and the construction of the system of the environment-related legal framework.
China has enacted 24 environment and resource-related laws and more than 100 decrees and rules for an initial system of environmental protection laws.
