East China's Jiangxi Province Monday reported 10 forest fires, amid a lingering heat wave in southeast China.
So far this month, 65 forest fires have been reported in the province.
All 11 cities in Jiangxi have reported forest fires and one third of the fires took place in the southern part of the province, a government source said.
Temperatures have been scalding since July 1 with the daily highest temperature averaging over 37 degrees centigrade.
Many blazes were caused by careless use of fire by residents and tourists, the source said.
A number of fires were still burning and fire stations across the province were on stand-by.
