Chengdu Charges Discarding of Used Electric Appliances
Chengdu, Sichuan Province, has worked out local rules to charge the disposal of dangerous and poisonous waste, inorganic sludge and used domestic electric appliances.

Any one who discards a used television set will be charged several dozen or over a hundred yuan in addition to fees for transportation.

The city will stipulate rules for the control and disposal of dangerous waste. A dangerous waste disposal center will be built and put into operation in the first half of July.
