The Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) is making preparations to run for the United Nations' award of the Global 500 Roll of Honor for Environmental Achievement next year, said Vong Man Hung, president of the executive committee of the Environment Council here yesterday.
If Macao wins the award, the result of which comes out on World Environment Day on June 5 every year, the tourist city could achieve a higher international reputation and create better living conditions for its people, she said.
