Those trying to control and prevent noise pollution in Beijing will soon have detailed regulations to follow.
The Beijing Youth Daily reports the municipal government is working on regulations to deal with noise pollution.
The new regulations direct construction companies to cease interior decoration and renovation work after normal work hours and at weekends.
If a complaint is pursued by neighbors, construction companies may face a fine of up to US$6,000.
Under the regulations, people who find themselves troubled by any kind of noise from neighbors - such as the noise of air conditioners or dogs' barking - will be able to bring a noise pollution suit to court.
The draft regulations have been posted on the Internet in order to garner opinions from citizens.
