Here Comes the Man-made Rain

All preparations to create man-made rain are finished, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau announced Monday.

The municipal government has given the green light to the event, and the planes, technicians and "seed" to be planted in the clouds to induce the rain are all ready.
The plane will carry out the event at a height of 4,500 to 5,400 meters. The bureau is waiting for the appropriate weather conditions, mainly enough clouds to induce the rain.

The rain is planned to cool down the city and help relieve the overloaded power grid. Meteorologists predicted showers in afternoon or evening today and tomorrow, however, the sunny and hot weather will return on Thursday with the arrival of an increased subtropical high pressure system.

Today's high will be 34 to 35 degrees.
