Director Feng Xiaogang and Yin Li have been elected members of the 11th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), the country's political advisory body, according to a 2237-member list recently published on CPPCC's website.

Actress Gong Li, a member of the ninth and tenth CPPCC National Committee, is not included in the new roster. But her long-time partner, director Zhang Yimou, was re-elected.

During the fifth session of the 10th CPPCC National Committee in March 2007, Gong Li submitted two proposals on film-grading and environmental protection.

The CPPCC members are expected to highlight problems, convey public complaints and submit suggestions at the sessions during their five-year tenure.
