Hollywood director Max Makowski said he hopes Hong Kong actor Francis Ng will play the staring role in his movie remake of Kung Fu, an American television series in the 1970s, the Chinese web portal Sina.com reported.
Makowski held an audition in Hong Kong on Sunday to search for a new Kwai Chang Caine, the story's main character, who was played by Hollywood star David Carradine in the TV show.
"I hope Francis can join the cast, and I will give him an important role. But it is the film company's decision," Makowski told the media.
Francis Ng also has expressed an interest in starring in the movie.
The movie will be co-produced by Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros., according to a report by Asian News International.
