Hong Kong electrofolk duo, at17, performs in a file photo. The at17 will play for the first time on the Chinese mainland on December 21 in Shanghai.

Bearing the reputation as Hong Kong's most beloved musical group, the two girls of electrofolk duo at17 are set to expand their mainland fan base by presenting a debut concert later this month.

The show, organized by 3G.cn, a popular Mobile WAP portal, is scheduled for December 21 at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center.

Fellow musicians, Chet Lam and PixelToy, will perform as guests, the organizer said.

Tickets are selling with a cap at 688 yuan (US$93).

The at17, with Eman Lam and Ellen Joyce Loo, who are versatile singer-songwriters, signed with the local indie label, People Mountain People Sea, in 2002. The group released their first album, "Meow Meow Meow" later that year. The album was called a "trailblazing folktronica offering" by critics.

In 2006, the band was voted by radio listeners as the "most beloved musical group" during the Ultimate Song Chart Awards, beating pop rival Twins.
