Famous Chinese hostess Yang Lan and Canadian diva Celine Dion announced yesterday in Beijing that they would collaborate on founding a jewelry accessories company in China, Beijing Morning Post reported.

Yang Lan's Her Village Multimedia Co. Ltd., Celine Dion's Les Productions Feeling Inc. and Neoglory Holdings Group Co. Ltd. said in a press release that the three parties will co-establish a new company named HVLove Ltd. to design and sell accessories made of diamonds and precious metals via the Internet and chain stores.

Yang Lan, a famous TV hostess in China and chairwoman of Sun Media Investment Holdings Ltd., owns the Her Village Online Community. It is one of the biggest women's multi-media communities in the world, visited by 40 million individuals per month and its e-magazine is downloaded on average 180 million times a month.

According to Analysys International, the leading advisor on technology, media, and telecom industries in China, 84.2 percent of the members' monthly salaries are above 3,500 yuan, well enough to afford fashionable jewelry pieces.

Celine Dion, the best selling female recording artist of all time worldwide, will surely help the new company's international influence and promotion with her fame. The new company will start full-scale operations in the fourth quarter of this year, the press release said.

According to Beijing Morning Post, Yang Lan's initial idea of cooperating with Celine Dion was born right after she interviewed the superstar backstage at Dion's Las Vegas show at Caesars Palace hotel-casino in May, where both were surprised to find out that they share the same birthday.
