Taiwan R&B guru David Tao has long been planning a professional directorial debut.
David Tao, whose father used to work as an animator for Walt Disney, says he has educational background in filmmaking, and he will be producing professional work rather than the amateur type.
The singer says he has been working intensely on screenplay writing. He hopes to start filming for his directorial debut later this year, despite all the activities lined up for promoting his last album titled "Beautiful."
The singer, known for having popularized R&B in the Mandopop industry, says that music will only be a small part of his career in the future while dedicating most of his time to filmmaking.
David Tao tells the media that he is yet to check out fellow musician Jay Chou's first directorial work titled "Secret," which has been a box office front-runner since hitting the big-screen last month.
Popular Taiwan musician David Tao is seen in this undated photo. David Tao says he expects filming for his directorial debut to start later this year.
