Chinese, American Music Students Unite on Stage

Students in China and students in America might be on opposite sides of the world, but that's not stopping some music students from the two countries from getting together. On Tuesday night, a concert by Chinese and American students brought down the house.

After traveling halfway around the world, top music students from the Juilliard School of Music held a concert in Nanning, capital of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Professor Andrew Thomas, also a renowned composer and pianist, took up the baton to conduct the American students in a rousing piece.

And then Professor Barli Nugent played a stirring flute duet with a Chinese partner.

13-year-old Chinese piano prodigy Meng Yuqing was another highlight of the evening. The talented young man was handpicked by Juilliard when he was only seven years old, and now he has become one of Juilliard's brightest stars of tomorrow.
