Beijing will exhibit a three-dimensional map which reproduces the view of the city in 1949. The map, made of bronze, is 9 meters long and 10 meters wide and weighs about 12 tons.
The bronze map will be put on show next month at the newly established Beijing City Planning Exhibition Hall.
The map shows streets, houses, trees and lakes, reflecting scenes inside the city walls before they were demolished in the early 1950s.
