Pop singer Han Hong will perform at the Capital Gymnasium tomorrow, Christmas Eve.

It is Han's first recital and, as she promised fans at a recent media conference in Beijing: "I will sing as well as I can and you will not regret buying tickets."

She will treat the audience to more than 20 of her hits, including Himalaya, Being Beautiful in Wind and Rain, Homeland, Waking Up and Daybreak.

Han will also show off her talent on the piano, guitar and drums.

Pop-rock singer Zheng Jun, film star Vicky Zhao and woman soccer player Sun Wen will join her on stage as guest performers.

The concert will also feature a star-studded band composed of Li Yanliang, Luan Shu, Lao Zai and Zhang Ling, all superstars on the Chinese rock and pop scene.

Producer Jin Shaogang has successfully overseen performances by Waren Mok, Sun Nan and the Warner Stars this year.

The Tibet-born Han has rapidly risen to fame since the release of her debut album, The Shining Rays Over the Snowcapped Plateau in late 1997.

The winner of multiple awards, Han is popular for her unique voice and Tibet-inspired songs.

Inheriting a golden voice from her mother, Han learned to sing at the China Conservatory of Music when she was 17.Before stepping into the spotlight herself, she worked backstage, writing songs for other performers.

In May 2001 Han released her second album, Waking Up, then signed a contract with China's domestic label Jingwen to release Singing in November 2002, followed by Red this past October.
