The National Society for the Study of Party Building sponsored a symposium in Shaoshan City, in central China's Hunan Province, Monday and Tuesday, to mark the 110th anniversary of the birth of Mao Zedong (1893-1976).
The participants, including scholars and experts from around the country, paid a visit to Mao's ancestral home and a memorial hall to the late leader in Shaoshan.
At the meeting, the participants discussed Mao's theory of party building, and agreed that Mao's theory is not out of date but is of great importance to improving the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the quality of CPC members
