An unprecedented number of world art masterpieces are appearing in the Shanghai Art Fair which starts tomorrow in Shanghai Mart.
This is the seventh session of the Shanghai Art Fair, which remains the largest such event in Asia. Lasting until November 2, the art fair has attracted over 200 galleries and art agencies from seven countries including China. Some major international galleries are taking part in the Shanghai Art Fair for the first time.
Emmanuel Javogue Fine Arts LLC from the United States will present a systematic show of modern western art, from Impressionist masters like Renoir to the Symbolism of Gauguin, the Cubism of Picasso, and the Surrealism of Giacometti.
"We may not sell a single piece here, but it is important to present our image," said Emmanuel Javogue.
Charges levied on foreign participants are now largely similar to those made on domestic galleries, honoring a pledge made by the central government on China's entry to the World Trade Organization.
