Pingyao, a north China town widely known for its well-protected ancient buildings, will host an international photo exhibition for the third year in succession.
The event, to run from Sept.15-22, will include a series of seminars, slide shows, photo fairs, and national awards for editors and theorists on photography.
A photo exhibition museum will also be inaugurated.
The event is organized by the China Photographers Association, the China Artistic Photography Society, and two provincial government departments.
Two French companies, L'Oreal and Alcatel, will sponsor this year's show, said official sources.
Pingyao, a town of old streets and buildings dating from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties, has become a major tourism destination in north China.
