Cedain Zhoima, a noted singer of the Tibet Autonomous Region, will give a concert in the regional capital of Lhasa on Friday.
With the theme of eulogizing the Communist Party of China, it will be the first large vocal concert held in the region.
Cedain was born in 1937 into a herdsman's family in southern Tibet. She is now vice-president of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and vice-president of the Chinese Musicians Association.
Cedain's renditions of "On the Golden Mountain of Beijing," "Pasture Song" and "Wine Song" are known across the country. Her name has become identified with the best of Tibetan music in China for the past few decades.
