A forum on cultural diversity and tourism development initiated by UNESCO will be held from April 6 to 9 in southwestern China's Kunming City, the Chinese Ministry of Culture (MOC) said in Beijing Friday.
The forum is co-sponsored by UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), the MOC Center for International Cultural Exchange, and Kunming city government.
The forum, taking "culture, tourism and development" as its theme, will feature in-depth discussions on the protection of historical cities, cultural diversity, scenic area management, and cultural protection versus tourism development.
UN tourism and culture experts, officials with MOC and the Chinese National Tourism Administration, and domestic experts will be invited to speak at the forum.
