Hong Kong's young people should constantly reinvent themselves by acquiring new knowledge in a bid to stay competitive, said Christopher Cheng, chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce.
Cheng made the remarks here Thursday at the opening ceremony of the Education and Careers Expo 2003, which is jointly organized by the Trade Development Council and the Labor Department.
The expo, under the theme "Mastering Your Future," has provided a platform where Hong Kong students and job-seekers can gather up-to-date and comprehensive information on education and employment.
The expo has attracted about 310 local and overseas educational institutions and 56 exhibitors from private enterprises, government bodies and professional associations.
There are 100 seminars, 16 education forums and 30 video shows to be held to provide information on the employment market and self-development opportunities during the four-day fair.
