Mainland, Hong Kong Universities Strengthen Cooperation
The elite University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) has signed an agreement with Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) for a student exchange program.

Under the agreement, the USTC will send 15 undergraduate students to Hong Kong for a semester's study next February.

Ten will be from the School of Information Technology and the rest from the School of Business, said university sources.

These students were selected through several rounds of tests including written and oral tests to evaluate their English levels.

They have been admitted by the HKUST and are preparing to select courses for study in Hong Kong.

The HKUST will send their students to Hefei, capital of Anhui Province, home of the USTC, next year. Although only 15 exchange students are allowed every year, 200 undergraduates in the HKUST have so far applied.
