Anna C. Chennault's Memoirs Issued in HK
Anna C. Chennault's Memoirs was issued Thursday in Hong Kong, with the writer coming from the United States to Hong Kong to attend the launching ceremony of her 52nd book.

The 500,000-word memoirs comprise two books and include some 200 pictures.

Recalling her life all those years, Chennault said friends, instead of wealth and power, are important in one's life as with friends' help, one would lead an interesting life and overcome all kinds of difficulties.

According to Chennault, no matter man or woman, as long as one makes up one's mind and keeps on trying, one would succeed sooner or later.

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government's Secretary for Justice Elsie Leung Oi-sie was among those officiating at the ceremony, who noted that she was proud of having such a good senior as Anna C. Chennault.

Anna Chan Chennault was born in June 1925 in Beijing, China. She graduated from Lingnan University in Hong Kong in 1944 and obtained doctor's degree of law from Lincoln University in 1970.

Chennault worked as a war correspondent for the Central News Agency from 1944 to 1948. After marrying in Shanghai with Claire Lee Chennault, commander of US 14th air fleet, she became a naturalized US citizen in 1950.

In 1969, Chennault was elected member of the Republican National Finance Committee, and chairperson of the Republican National Heritage Council in 1979. From 1981 to 1985 she worked as vice-chairperson of the White House Export Committee.
